About AABB

AABB is an international, not-for-profit association representing institutions and individuals involved in relationship testing. AABB develops and delivers standards, accreditation, and educational programs that focus on relationship testing.

AABB accredits facilities across the United States and globally for relationship (DNA) testing, including forensics and investigative genetic genealogy testing.

 

Description:

This workshop will address AABB accreditation topics, including quality systems, standards, proficiency testing, and calculations.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Common Nonconformances to the AABB Standards for Relationship Testing Laboratories, 16th Edition and how to avoid them.
  2. Outcomes of recent relationship testing proficiency tests
  3. Complex relationship testing calculations.
  4. An overview of the implementation of AABB standards and the requirements to achieve accreditation.

Intended Audience:

AABB members and anyone interested in the AABB Accreditation Program for Relationship Testing Facilities.

Marsha Deitz has worked for AABB as the staff Lead Assessor for Relationship Testing since January 2010. Marsha is a Certified Quality Auditor with ASQ, a certified lead auditor for ISO/IEC 17025, a forensic scientist and licensed Medical Technologist.
