Venue and Transportation
The 31st International Symposium on Human Identification will be held at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country. Located 14 miles from the San Antonio International Airport, the JW Marriott provides guests with six unique dining experiences, and the opportunity to unwind after the day’s sessions.

We recommend signing up for a Marriott Rewards account prior to arrival to receive complimentary WiFi in your guest room. Taxi service is available in the area, as well as ride share services such as Lyft or Uber, but they do not regularly circle in the Hill Country area. We recommend scheduling your ride ahead of time to ensure you arrive at your destination in a timely manner.
SCAM ALERT- You may receive an official looking email from a company called Global Expo Travel offering discounted rates at hotels in the San Antonio area. This company is not affiliated with ISHI and has not been authorized to represent the conference. If you have booked a room through Global Expo Travel, Travel Partners International or another 3rd party supplier be aware that these companies book rooms for a commission and the hotels they recommend may not be up to the standards you are expecting. You may be left without a room or given a substandard room without the ability to request a refund or remedy.
The San Antonio International Airport is located 20 minutes south of JW Marriott. There is no shuttle service to the hotel from the airport, but alternate transportation is available.
Taxi: The typical fare from the airport to is $45 each way.
Ride Share: Ride-Sharing companies Uber, Wingz, and Lyft (Transportation Network Companies) have now obtained permits to provide pick-ups and drop-offs at the San Antonio International Airport. Passengers should arrange for a ride by using their app on their smart phone or mobile device.
