Venue and Transportation
The 31st International Symposium on Human Identification will be held at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country. Located 14 miles from the San Antonio International Airport, the JW Marriott provides guests with six unique dining experiences, and the opportunity to unwind after the day’s sessions.
We have negotiated a limited block of rooms at hotels within walking distance of the Convention Center. These rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and government rate rooms will sell through early. Our room block will open on February 5, 2020. Please note that government rate rooms are for U.S. government employees only and identification will be required upon check-in. Please contact Tara Luther with any questions.
We recommend signing up for a Marriott Rewards account prior to arrival to receive complimentary WiFi in your guest room. Taxi service is available in the area, as well as ride share services such as Lyft or Uber, but they do not regularly circle in the Hill Country area. We recommend scheduling your ride ahead of time to ensure you arrive at your destination in a timely manner.
SCAM ALERT- You may receive an official looking email from a company called Global Expo Travel offering discounted rates at hotels in the Palm Springs area. This company is not affiliated with ISHI and has not been authorized to represent the conference. If you have booked a room through Global Expo Travel, Travel Partners International or another 3rd party supplier be aware that these companies book rooms for a commission and the hotels they recommend may not be up to the standards you are expecting. You may be left without a room or given a substandard room without the ability to request a refund or remedy.
The San Antonio International Airport is located 20 minutes south of JW Marriott. There is no shuttle service to the hotel from the airport, but alternate transportation is available.
