Workshop

Grupo Cientifico Latino-Americano de Trabajo Sobre Identificacion Humana Part 2

Friday September 18th, 2020 // 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

There is no charge for this workshop, but pre-registration is required.

Back to San Antonio

In 2010, during the 21st ISHI in San Antonio, TX, the Latin American Scientific Group on Human Identification Work was born.

Now in 2020 we are back to this amazing city to hold the 11th GCLAITH Meeting, excited to start a new decade of scientific progress in human identification in Latin America and the world!

If you are interested in joining us and sharing your experience at the largest annual meeting on forensic genetics in the world, submit an abstract to the GCLAITH organizing committee! The authors of the selected abstracts will be invited to an oral presentation.

The central theme of this year’s meeting will be: “New frontiers of knowledge: building the forensic genetics of the next decade”.

We want to debate issues that represent innovation and scientific growth in Latin America and in the sister countries, seeking to help build what will be the forensic genetics of the future!

For that, we suggest that the abstracts cover the following topics of interest:

  • New genetic markers and new technologies for genetic analysis;
  • Population and ancestry studies in Latin America;
  • Forensic genealogy;
  • Phenotyping, epigenetics and metagenomics;
  • Quality assurance in DNA laboratories;
  • Development and applications of DNA databases.

  • Nuevos marcadores genéticos y nuevas tecnologías de análisis genético;
  • Estudios de población y de ascendencia en América Latina;
  • Fenotipaje, epigenética y metagenómica;
  • Genealogía forense;
  • Calidad en laboratorios de genética forense;
  • Desarrollo y aplicaciones de bases de datos de ADN.
