Celso Teixeira Mendes Junior

Graduated (1998) in Biological Sciences from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (FFCLRP-USP), Masters (2001) and Doctorate (2005) in Genetics (FMRP-USP) and post-doctorate (2007) at the Department of Internal Medicine (Division of Clinical Immunology) of the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto (FMRP-USP). In 2008 he joined the faculty of FFCLRP-USP, to work with the Bachelor’s Degree in Forensic Chemistry, being responsible for disciplines of molecular biology and forensic genetics. In 2017, he was approved in a professorship exam in the Forensic Molecular Biology area at FFCLRP-USP and is currently an Associate Professor at that institution, being responsible for the Forensic and Genomic Research Laboratory (LPFG). He has experience in Population Genetics, Human Genetics and Forensic Genetics, working mainly on the following topics: genetic polymorphisms, next generation sequencing, genomic ancestry, human pigmentation and forensic phenotyping by DNA.
