Heather Henricksen

Heather Henricksen has been an Assistant State Attorney in Broward County for over 26 years.  She is currently serving as the Chief of the Sexual Battery Unit/Elderly Abuse Unit and Human Trafficking Unit at the Office of the State Attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward County. Since graduating from law school in 1998,  Heather Henricksen has devoted her legal career to the pursuit of justice, trying hundreds of criminal cases over the years. With a strong background in forensic evidence and trial advocacy, she has developed a reputation for expertly handling DNA cases, including cold cases, complex homicides and sexual battery prosecutions.  Heather Henricksen works closely with the BSO Crime Lab, DNA Unit to stay current on technological advancements, interpret genetic findings and ensure accurate application in trial.  Through collaboration with the DNA analysts, she transforms highly technical DNA evidence into a clear narrative that both judges and juries can easily understand.
