Jennifer Janetsky

Chief Prosecutor of the SAKI/Cold Case CSC Unit, Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office

Jennifer Janetsky began her career as a Victim Advocate and Peer Counselor for the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center in Ann Arbor, MI.  After sitting with countless sexual assault survivors as they attempted to safely navigate the legal system, and seeing first-hand the incredible damage that process can cause to our most vulnerable victims, Ms. Janetsky became convinced that Criminal Sexual Conduct could and should be prosecuted in an entirely different way.  After receiving her law degree from the University of Michigan in 1997, Ms. Janetsky began to focus her efforts on creating a victim-centered approach toward the prosecution of sex crimes.  In the last five years alone, Ms. Janetsky has tried 34 capital criminal sexual conduct cases, winning 94% of her cases tried, and 100% of her cases with child victims.  She is currently the Chief Prosecutor of the SAKI/Cold Case CSC Unit of the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office in Flint, Michigan.
