Kevin Kiesler

Research Biologist, Applied Genetics Group, Biomolecular Measurement Division, NIST

Kevin has been working in molecular biology laboratories since 1992, holding positions in the academic, service, industrial, and government sectors. In that time, he has done a wide variety of tasks, from protein engineering to mass spectrometry to gene expression microarrays and genome mapping. In his current position at NIST he is focused on next generation sequencing research for human identification using a variety of marker types such as mitochondrial DNA, STRs, SNPs, and microhaplotypes on both the Illumina and Ion Torrent platforms.
