Laurence Devesse holds a BSc in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Bath, and a Masters of Research in Forensic Science from King’s College London. She worked for two years as a forensic research associate under a Knowledge Transfer Partnership between King’s College London and Illumina, before deciding it was about time to start her PhD. In 2017, she was awarded an Industrial Fellowship by the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851, which has allowed her to undertake her PhD research part-time at King’s College, whilst also working for Verogen as a Field Application Specialist. Her research focusses on the implementation of Massively Parallel Sequencing in Forensic DNA Identification.
