Director of the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences (Ministry of Justice). He has been Head of the Biology Service of the same institution between 2014-2020. He has a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Granada (1989), a Master in Bioengineering (1991) and a doctorate from the University of Zaragoza (2013). Associate Professor at Pompeu y Fabra University since 2006 and Professor at the International University of Catalonia. He is currently Secretary of the National Commission for the forensic use of DNA (CNUFADN) (Spain) and Secretary of the Spanish and Portuguese Group of Forensic Genetics (GHEP-ISFG). He is part of the Teaching and Training Committee of the Institute of Legal Medicine of Catalonia. Reviewer for various specialized journals in the field of forensic genetics. International advisor to forensic genetics laboratories (El Salvador, Honduras, Dominican Republic; Mexico, Argentina, Turkey ..). Author of numerous publications in the field of forensic genetics and a speaker at conferences and seminars on the specialty.
