IGG Program Manager, Federal Bureau of Investigation

Supervisory Special Agent Amy Whitman has been involved in the FBI’s Investigative Genetic Genealogy (IGG) Program since April 2019 and is currently the IGG Program Manager overseeing administrative and investigative responsibilities for the IGG Program at FBI Headquarters.  Prior to her role as program manager, she was the IGG Team Leader for the West Region.  She has assisted in solving complex cases throughout the United States and has helped develop a more robust Investigative Genetic Genealogy program throughout the FBI.  SSA Whitman regularly instructs investigators at the state, local, and federal level on best practices and use of the IGG technique.  Amy has been a Special Agent for over 12 years working a variety of criminal threats, to include: healthcare fraud, crimes against children, bank robberies, and threats to life, and is a qualified Emergency Medical Technician for FBI SWAT and Dive Teams.
