Teresa Snyder-Leiby from SoftGenetics chats with Jordan at ISHI 34 where she discusses her company’s software for forensic DNA analysis. SoftGenetics has attended ISHI since 2008, and they Teresa emphasizes the value of the conference for sharing information and learning within the industry.

Formerly a technical forensic expert, Teresa’s role has shifted over the years to product management at SoftGenetics. In this role, she is able to share the needs of the labs with those who develop software at SoftGenetics.

SoftGenetics’ software is known for being robust, user-friendly, and reducing analyst intervention significantly – sometimes up to 70% of the time freeing the analyst up to do things that software and technology cannot. The company’s focus is to meet the needs and challenges of forensic labs, aiming to continue growing and providing support to the industry.

Their expert software system, GeneMarker®, an expert system for CODIS, will flag any questionable peaks and is used in casework, paternity, relationship testing, and missing persons searches. Teresa shares that SoftGenetics is expanding their software to accommodate the growing use of MPS data in laboratories.
