Future ISHI Locations for 2023 and 2024
While we’re still getting ready for this year’s ISHI conference, many of you are already getting excited for the future and have inquired about locations and dates for upcoming meetings.
Next year, we’re traveling to a city that we’ve never been to – Denver, Colorado! Though Denver is near the Rocky Mountains, the city itself is quite flat, which makes it hard to believe that you really are exactly one mile above sea level. That being said, there are 200 named peaks visible from the city, including 32 that reach 13,000 feet (4,000 meters) and above. You’ll have no problems getting your steps in that week!
Speaking of walking, Denver has one of the most walkable downtowns in the United States. The 10th largest downtown in the country boasts 3 major sports stadiums, the nation’s second-largest performing arts center, three colleges, a variety of art and history museums, a mint that produces 10 billion coins per year, a river offering white water rafting, a theme and water park, aquarium, and hundreds of amazing restaurants all within a mile radius. With 300 days of sunshine per year, you’re likely to have beautiful weather as you explore. Or, you could always settle in at one of the city’s local breweries, wineries, or distilleries.
Either way, be sure to mark your calendars for September 18-21, 2023 to attend ISHI 34 at the Colorado Convention Center and Hyatt Regency.
In 2024, we’re ‘mooving’ to San Antonio, Texas for ISHI 35. While foodies already know a taste of what San Antonio has to offer, those who have never been will find that there is a lot to explore as well. San Antonio, Texas was originally founded as a Spanish Mission and colonial outpost in 1718, and it’s Spanish roots are still evident today. It may have started as a small outpost, but rapid growth has led to San Antonio being the seventh most populous city in the United States today, and host to 32 million tourists each year.
The 35th International Symposium on Human Identification will be held at the JW Marriott Hill Country. Located 14 miles from the San Antonio International Airport, the JW Marriott provides guests with six unique dining experiences, and the opportunity to unwind after the day’s sessions. Whether you prefer to relax at the spa, explore the nine-acre water park, or take in a round of golf, the JW Marriott has it all. Save the date for September 23 – 26, 2024!
