Jeff Smallwood is a Police Specialist and 27-year veteran with the Cincinnati Police Department where he has been assigned to the Homicide Unit since 2020. Before his current assignment he worked in the Personal Crimes Unit for 18 years primarily investigating sexual assaults. During his time as a detective, Jeff has received numerous commendations and awards including receiving the ‘Best Overall Investigation’ award from the Hamilton County Police Association in 2012 and 2020 and ‘Most Constructive Plans or Idea to Improve Police Operations’ in 2025. Prior to entering the police academy in 1998, Jeff graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.
