Criminalist, New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner

Kevin McKenna is a Criminalist at the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner in the Department of Forensic Biology, the largest public forensic DNA laboratory in the country. As a Criminalist, he has examined physical evidence and performed DNA analysis on hundreds of cases and provided expert testimony in multiple New York City courts. He is also a member of the agency’s DNA Missing Persons Unit where he regularly works with unidentified human remains, conducts interviews with families of missing persons, and identifies victims of the World Trade Center attacks. He has earned both a B.S. in Forensic Science and a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy from the University of New Haven. Kevin is an associate member of both the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists.
