What to Know Before You VIRTUALLY Go
What a roller coaster ride 2020 has been! With all that’s changed, we are excited that we’re still able to welcome you to ISHI 31 (albeit in a different format). We are thrilled to have so many of you joining us from around the world and though we’re meeting in a different way, our expert speakers and vendors are looking forward to contributing to the important work that you do.
The question that is likely at the top of your mind is “how do I access the platform?” It’s easy- the ISHI 31 conference can be accessed at ISHI31.onlineeventpro.freeman.com beginning on Saturday, September 12th. In order to login, you will need your registration confirmation and the email address you used to register for the event. For those who need a reminder, keep an eye out for an email that will include this information. This confirmation number is unique to you and should not be shared with colleagues.
Virtual Exhibit Hall
This year, 32 vendors have signed up to showcase their products and services at ISHI. Visiting their virtual booths will allow you to view videos of their offerings and download PDFs with additional information. Clicking the “schedule a meeting” button will allow you select a time for a virtual call with booth staff. You can learn more about most exhibitors by watching these video interviews from previous ISHI meetings. Visiting with 3 exhibitors qualifies you to receive your FREE ISHI t-shirt!
Chat Channels
Are you interesting in discussing a particular topic with colleagues? We’ve created a number of topic specific chat channels to help you out. Along with those, we’ve also created a channel specifically for technical difficulties and for ISHI meeting updates.
Meeting new people can be hard in a virtual format so let our platform help you out! By answering a few questions and completing your Grip profile when you log in to the meeting, we will match you with other attendees and exhibitors who have similar topic interests. You can then schedule a video call with them or introduce yourself through chat. More information can be found in this FAQ document.
Certificates
Certificates for the General Sessions program and any workshops attended will be emailed to the address you registered with within a week post-show and can be printed from your home or lab.
Submit Photos Each Day of the General Sessions for a Chance to Win a $25 Amazon Gift Card
One of the things we love most about ISHI is seeing all of you, the attendees! Since we won’t be able to greet you in person this year, we’ve come up with the next best thing. Each day of the general sessions (September 14 – 16, 2020), we’re asking you to send in photos of you and your lab mates so that we can stay connected.
In exchange, for each day you submit a photo, you’ll be entered to win one of four $25 Amazon gift cards. Winners will be announced the following morning on our Facebook and Twitter pages as well as in the “ISHI Updates” chat channel. We will also reach out to winners directly via email. Each day’s theme is listed below. Photos must be received during that 24-hour period in order to be considered. Submit your photos here each day. We look forward to seeing your creativity!
Monday, September 14th – Introduce Yourself
- If a picture says 1,000 words, then tell us about yourself! Submit a picture of yourself and/or your lab mates indicating where you’re attending from geographically. This could include a sign, your lab, a landmark, map, your local environment, etc. OR you can send a picture showcasing something you are passionate about, such as a favorite sport or hobby.
Tuesday, September 15th – Working from Home
- Our working environments have all changed a little this year. Take a picture with your new co-workers, whether they be animal or human or upload a picture of you working from your home office. Bonus points for those who wear a past ISHI tee in the photo!
Wednesday, September 16th – Looking forward to ISHI 32
- In honor of ISHI 32 being held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, submit a photo that is Disney themed. Put on a pair of mouse ears, take a picture with your favorite character, etc.
Compete with Attendees to Win an Amazon Gift Card or FREE Registration to ISHI 32
Explore the virtual ISHI platform to start earning points! Work your way up the leaderboard by submitting photos and videos, signing up to write a blog post for the ISHI website, visiting with vendors, watching sessions, and more. Get an edge over your competitors by viewing the challenge list in advance by visiting this website.
All Sessions Available On-Demand for at Least 30 Days
Did you miss a session when it aired live? Don’t worry – ALL sessions (including the workshops) will be available on-demand for at least 30 days following the close of the meeting. We have also included bonus on-demand content featuring interviews with previous ISHI speakers. For even more ISHI videos, visit our YouTube page.
